Santana Nez

I grew up on a cow/calf ranch in northern Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. Horses have been in my life before I was born. I've gathered/cut cattle horseback, rodeo-ed competitively, participating in barrel racing and breakaway roping. I acquired a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences with an emphasis on Equine Sciences. During college, I had taken an internship working with thoroughbred racehorses in Pennsylvania, there I was a groom, exercise rider and assisted in training of yearlings. I also was a wrangler for a guest ranch, teaching horsemanship to all visitors. Today,  I still go back home to northern Arizona, help out my family with chores on the ranch, such as checking cattle horseback, exercise and conditioning performance all-around quarter horses. As well as maintaining our horses' health care (deworming, vaccinating..etc). I also do some equine photography as a hobby. I am most comfortable and at home when I am around horses.
