Competing in the lights of Vegas

Las Vegas, the home for rodeo for two weeks of December. Now most of us are there to watch the NFR and the top 15 in the world. But others are there to compete as well. There are many events held over the course of two weeks that allow the competitors to show off their talents and become champions. There's the World Series Team roping, JR NFR, Rising Stars Calf Roping and so many others. But, there was a new addition this year, The Rope for The Crown Breakaway event.

Meet Kimes’ newest endorsee Bobby-Jean Colyer! The future is looking bright for Colyer. She is entered in the Reno Million Roping, plans to attend the World Series in Cheyenne, Wyoming and is already qualified for the finale in Las Vegas. Kimes Ranch is very excited to have Colyer join our team and we can’t wait to see all her accomplishments this year.

2017 CCPRA Finals Review

Formed in 1966, the California Professional Rodeo Association (CCPRA) is a regional organization that sanctions several rodeos throughout California.  With co-approved rodeos in Nevada, Washington, and Oregon, the CCPRA provides cowboys and cowgirls the opportunity to compete in roughly 25 rodeos a year.  Each rodeo has strong competition in all events and the association has shown steady growth over the past years.  To conclude each season the association produces a final rodeo for the top twelve in each event.
