The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo begins this Thursday (December 4). For those of you heading down to the finals, whether it’s for the rodeo or for the shopping, you may be wondering what to pack. As I mentioned in my previous post (Catching up with Miss Rodeo Tennessee 2014: Morgan Blackhurst). The NFR is rodeo’s own Fashion Week.
First on my list is a great pair of boots (or two, or three). Men break out your exotics! You’re headed to town. Ladies bring a pair to shop in and a pair to hit the town.
Next on the list is a pair of jeans that can transition from shopping at Cowboy Christmas to hitting up the after parties. Ladies, if you haven’t check out the Betty Jean now is the time. These jeans are the perfect dark wash for dressing up or down and won’t stretch out after a “few” hours of shopping. Men, the new Johnny Jeans are ideal for picking up a cute girl at the rodeo. Take it from me, they do great things for your rear end.
Accessories, are the next thing on the list. Ladies, turquoise necklaces, over the top leather cuffs and the perfect hip belt are your go-to items in Vegas. One of my favorite places to get leather cuffs and the “perfect” hip belt is at Classic Leather Designs. Sandy and Gary Meyer have been creating amazing handmade leather pieces of over 40 years and it shows. The company typically has a booth in Vegas, but sadly this year could not attend. Don’t be afraid to go for the “more is more”; it’s Vegas! Men class it up with a classic tooled leather belt and your favorite buckle (may I suggest the one from your latest roping excursion.)
For all the ladies who are reading this may I suggest a pair of palazzo pants or leggings. Perfect for all day shopping, and they pair great with boots and a chambray (denim) shirt. I personally lean more toward the palazzo pant as they aren’t so tight on my legs and I can wear a plainer boot underneath them.
I hope to see you all running around Cowboy Christmas and at the rodeo. Be sure to tag us in your NFR fashions #kimesranchjeans. Find Kimes Ranch Jeans and myself on the website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
