Alyssa Lockhart

Hi, my name is Alyssa Lockhart. I’m from the small town of Oelrichs, South Dakota, where my family owns a small ranch. Just for a little bit about myself: this fall I am attending my sophomore year at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota and compete on a full ride rodeo scholarship on the college rodeo team (women’s team was ranked 5th in the nation this year at the college finals). I am currently a psychology major and business minor, but am still totally clueless about what I want to pursue! In high school I played varsity volleyball, basketball, and track, was a member of the National Honor’s Society and student council, and was salutatorian of my class, graduating with a 4.068 GPA. Academics have always been one of the highest priorities in my life; this has carried on to college, and after my freshman year currently have a 4.0 GPA. My entire family competes in rodeo, and my parents have professionally as a career for many years. It just so happens to be our livelihood - other than our small 50 head of cattle! It is such an important aspect of my life, it’s also something I plan to pursue after college and forever after.

Biggest Accomplishment(s)
