Hello, my name is Michael Solberg, I am a Canadian rancher, and professional bareback rider. During these chilly winter months, I am feeding 170 head of cows, and going to the gym every other day to get ready for the 2015 rodeo season.  I've ridden in the canadian finals up here twice in the novice bareback, in which i finished second both years, and five times to the finals in the open.

The highlights of my career have been winning two go rounds at the CFR. In 2012, I was one of a very small amount of bareback riders to ever place in all six go-rounds. In 2013 going to the Calgary Stampede for the third time. At Calgary I ended up in second place in the wild card round, to make the Sunday Showdown, on Sunday I was 87.5 and just missed going to the final 4, $100000 round. I made over 10,000 there, words can't even describe the feeling.

During 2014 I sustained several injuries during the Canada day long weekend, that took me out of competition for the season. During that period I decided that I wanted to be in the absolute best shape I could be in, and be ready for any buckin horse I got on in 2015. I'm slimmer than I ever thought I could be, and twice as strong. I've been on several practice horses this fall that we've taken to the CFR, and every one I got on I have felt stronger and faster than I ever have before.
